We recently went hands-on with Forza Motorsport, we took it for a spin round the track on both PC and NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW Ultimate Tier, so that we could do a comparison and gauge just how good the cloud has elevated itself.

Throughout the time recording, analysing and making our video there were such fine margins, which makes us really reflect on just how far cloud gaming has come. The fact that through the majority of our video the two have been virtually inseparable really is exciting for cloud gaming and it has to be said, in terms of controller performance, we literally could not tell the difference between the two whilst we were playing. How amazing is that? The fact when you are playing a game in the cloud you literally couldn’t tell especially when then playing it on a local PC straight afterwards.

It’s a hats off to Turn 10 and to GeForce NOW because this is gaming at it’s best and cloud vs local made so hard to separate. Even when we carried out the in-game benchmarks with these identical settings, the only difference we saw was that the local PC was able to achieve 72FPS vs 59FPS on GeForce NOW.

In it’s launch window, Forza Motorsport came in for some criticism for it’s graphical performance and in particular the fact that it looks at it’s best in the wet and at night. Well taking that into consideration, we found the latest instalment in the Forza franchise, ran beautifully on both PC and NVIDIA’s Cloud Gaming service. The car detailing was visually appealing as was the recreation of some of the most recognisable tracks in the world.

Within our video we took a trip to Spa-Francorchamps in the Aston Martin Valhalla. We explored it during the day, in the wet and at night to give an all-round view of how the game performs. Why not check out the video to see the side by side comparison, amongst other footage from our time with it.

This feels like a big win for the cloud, not only to have such a prominent racing title available to play at launch but also because of just how close it was to local performance.
